belt shock bouncing after replacement
i just replaced the belt shock, and it is bouncing at idle so fast its a blur. making a vibration noise as well. any suggestions?

Are you sure it's attached to the tensioner arm at the bottom end? Are you sure the spring is intact and hooked at both ends? Springs can break inside the rubber sleeve. I hope you saved the receipt.

thanks for the reply sixto, yes and yes. i put the original one back on, and it's fine. no noise or vibration. the only reason why i replaced it was because the guy that did my timing chain and tensioner said it was bad also.
it could also be that it was a uro. i have heard bad things about that part name, and i guess i may have just found out how crappy they are...

I just installed a Stabilus on my '87 300D, and fired it up for the first time today. It was marked as made in Germany, works great, and looks identical to the one that was on the engine when I bought it (probably the original)

Latest part number is 604-200-02-14, dealer list price is $67, most aftermarket vendors have the Stabilus-Boge for $30-$40. Pelican has one of the lower prices at $31.
