If you need new crush spacers (between the bearings) I have several in my stash, I would remove it and measure, replace if needed and follow torque methods carefully. It can be a great challenge getting the special nut tight on the inside of the hub, I remember doing the job once with home made tools, the specialist would not loan out the socket for a reason.

I am going to get a new kit. The kit includes the crush washer, right? (I recall the kit I got last time included 5-6 pieces).

I have the tool. There is an offshore company that is now selling knockoffs of some of the older tools. Like the spring compressor knockoffs, I assume it will last long enough for the number of times I will need it.

We had a hell of a time getting the nut started but once it was tightening as I recall it was okay. Maybe recalling it was okay means it was not. This time around I am going to order a new nut as well.
