@Shortsguy
Same here. That button is there.

It's at the top-right corner of every post, right above a user's Join Date.

Exactly that. I find this forum very helpful as well. Tons of information on here when you search for it, plenty of detailed how-to's, and friendly knowledgeable folks more then willing to answer (stupid) questions...

This forum is great. DD does get a bit slow sometimes. I never noticed that new posts link but that would be awesome if it wasn't ruined by the open discussion politics and religion stuff. .

I vote deleting the open discussion politics and religion. That doesn't belong here at all. If it can't be deleted can we at least get it so it doesn't show up on the new posts? I think a lot of people would love to use that page.

Thanks

I am glad to hear that and I have also benefitted from this forum, far more so than I have contributed.

My remarks were not meant as criticism.

My thoughts were aimed at keeping this informative and the advice reliable. The reason that I do not want to let things go by is that there is a risk that bad advice ends up forever archived on the server. Anyone who searches later stands the risk of getting misleading info.

I have dug up seriously bad info now and again, when searching.

Iam always here in DD, stay the heck out of Open Discussion section. Waste of time, nothing learned there.

I was a lurker for a while reading and absorbing all this new founded knowledge.
then one day I had to open my mouth and...here Iam.
Everything I know about these MB`s I learned right here.

There are a lot of old timers that are gone for one reason or another. Sold their MB`s and moved on. Dave Morrison left us some out standing write ups.
Or got fed up arguing with some new person(s) time and again.
They left their mark here for us all to learn from, just doing some searching.

Too many times a newby will ask something like "My car won`t start, what`s wrong with it?

BC use to post this:

Thread Rules - Please read before posting!

Anything that needs to be done or fixed to these cars, has been done and posted. so the info is there.

Some of these questions has helped me, I then do a Google search, and start reading
to find the answer. then often times will post some links.

The thing that ticks me off, is when some one asks a question, gets 15 answers, and then does not come back to say...thanks.

Can`t fix that one.

I made a short cut to the Desk Top for DD, so gets me right here.
never thought about looking for all new postings.

What happened to this thread? I just wanted to know what happened to a couple forum members, and with very few exceptions, the posts have been anything but helping to know what happened to said members. Please don't misunderstand, I am not mad at anyone or desire to change or limit the present dialog. The subject has gone a little off track, but it is nonetheless interesting. However, in the beginning I was only hoping to get some help finding the forum members in question. I have a transaction that is unfinished, and I want to keep my part of the deal. If anyone knows any other way to get in touch with eatont999 other than PM or email (I tried both), then please help. It was suggested that Spring Break may be the reason, and I can understand that. I also would like to know what happened with the 123 book deal that uberwasser was dealing with, but he has mysteriously vanished from this community. Then there is the billet key head deal. I would like to know what became of that guy (not that I want to buy a key head from him, just curious what has happened). There may be others that have vanished into thin air that I don't know about, but eatont999 and uberwasser are on my mind right now....Rich

I'm the one who took the discussion onto a tangent, but if you read my initial reply, I started off suggesting you send a message (via the board) to eaton's email address instead of via a PM. Depending on his account settings, he may or may not be getting notifications via email when he has new PMs. An email will reach him, regardless.

One member who was familiar with uberwasser off-list sent him a message asking if all was okay and as I recall, the reply came back basically "yes, just super busy with new responsibilities at work and other stuff."

On the key-head guy, that went off the rails big time. The guy blew a gasket because someone from this forum contacted his employer when he stopped communicating with folks who had ordered units. IIRC he said he would honour the orders he had but that was it, he wanted nothing further to do with the project or the forum. Last I heard some folks got their key heads, some did not, and he is long gone.

Vstech may be looking into key heads? Not sure.

Again, I am not upset with you or anyone else. I did both PM and email, but no reply yet from either. As others have said on this and other threads (in not the same words), this community has been very helpful and is a great asset to all the members here. To me it is like an extended family. Being such, when a member is not heard from in a while, we get concerned. I desire to be an asset to this community as well, and should I be absent for a time, I would hope someone would take notice and investigate the reason for my absence. Being a peddler of Mercedes-Benz Diesel related niche products, I deal with many folks on this board. I feel that I have the responsibility to act with honesty and integrity with every person I deal with here. Being absent without notice tends to erode that integrity. When I go out of town and don't have access to the 'net, I try my best to let the people know before hand that are expecting something from me, that I will be out of communication for a time.
That is why this whole thing with the 123 book deal bothers me. It is like the guy just disappears without notice, right in the middle of the project. There are others that are probably just as baffled with the circumstances surrounding the book deal as I am. The credibility of uberwasser has plummeted in my opinion, and even if he brings the book deal back to life, I will not take part in it.
All this to say, if I ever go absent for a period of time without warning, there is definitely something wrong and someone should investigate. You are all like family to me, and I would do the same for you if need be.....Rich
