Well lets just say that you plan to reuse the crank bolts. The set of 12 costs about $60.00, but I think you can buy them for about $40.00. There are 12 of them. So you do your final torque to yield say on bolt #7. That one snaps. Are you going to be lucky and get it, the remaining part out, without taking the whole unit off and starting again. With the tension off the bolt you might be able to extract it quite easily, but again the way the bolt is made the failure is going to be down in that hole probably 1/4 to 3/8's of an inch. Could be a bear to get out without removing the other six you have already torqued down. For my luck I think I would be better off buying new ones.
