The part number of the wrong transmission they sent me is 124 260 98 01 717 4120 6854101. I have no earthly idea what it would fit. Any one know?

It's a 717.412 5 speed manual. It would fit the left side starter engines.

With single-mass flywheel only.
Originally it was fitt with the 2.0 gasoline or 2.0/2.5 NA diesel. |

Very good point that I didn't take into consideration. Thanks Doc.

There was an interesting thread over at STD about mating a 717 411 to an '85 om617 - see 5 speed manual om617. I wonder if this could be done with the OP's 717 412?
Sorry if this is a hijack - I know this thread is about compatibility of automatics - sure is easy for me to get distracted, though, thinking about the possibility of a 5 speed std. |
