sanden conversion belt issues

Its been almost or more than a year since I installed it and I have two issues with it.

I snapped the belt it came with and had to replace the adjuster bolt because it seized and snapped. I reinstalled a new, correctly sized belt, and adjusted the tension so it wasn't loose and had about 1/4 of play in the belt.

It still squeals on occasion, system isn't over charged. Verified this with an AC shops 134a machine.

second issue is the 90 degree bend going into the compressor has about 1/16'th of an inch. I need to either clearance the body or slip a rubber hose over it.

so has anyone else had constant belt issues with the sanden kit?

my belt has been tightened several times to correct squealing. I really feel it needs two belts if they are going to be the narrow belts. Sanden makes double row clutches, but I think they are all 24v for airplanes. Now if someone could put a 12v coil in a double row pulley, we'd really have something.

I'm on 10 months and no issues. I did fit a Contitech belt on install and kept the one that came with the kit as a spare. Had to tighten belt once after a month or two. No squeal, cooling well on R12.

Mine was made by rollguy. The problem is running a 3/8" belt. The crank pulley is a single 1/2" belt, but the Sanden comes with two 3/8" grooves. You can't run a 1/2" belt in a 3/8" groove for long. So we're stuck with a single 3/8" belt, which rides lower than it should in the 1/2" crank pulley. Someone out there with more junkyard skills than me please find a 1/2" groove 12v clutch that will fit on a Sanden. Then we'll be back to what MB designed.

Post, to find this again.

I hope to install this kit one day, and I will need the help of this forum to remember what the hell to do to stop this problem.
