It's a sad day, but I need to free up some garage space for my recently acquired 05 CDI. The 300D is the car that got me hooked on diesel MBs, and this forum is what taught me everything I know about them (admittedly not much, but that's my own fault not the forum's!).

I owe a debt of gratitude to everyone here who has shared his or her knowledge and experience.

It's been a great adventure with this car. From N.H., I've driven it as far west as Pittsburgh and as far north as Montreal -- it's never let me down. Back in the 80s, it made annual trips from Maine to Florida. It wears its high-mileage badge with pride. Hoping someone else can take it another 200K miles or more...
