Been smelling raw fuel in car for some time....

Been smelling raw fuel, return injector lines looked old and wet so I replaced them with a temp set until the braided get here. Still smelled like raw diesel in car. Took car a power washed engine to get a better look at the situation and drove home 11 miles. Pop the hood and all 5 of my injectors are leaking around the base, out of the "weep" hole...

Here is video of it where you can actually see it bubbling out...

What gets me is that all 5 injectors are doing it...

Verified correct torque, 55# Looks like I 'm going to have to pull all of them and replace the heat shields. May be time to just get them serviced as well. almost 300K on them.

Might be fuel but the source is very unlikely to be the injection nozzle's tip inside the prechamber, I'd think.

Maybe accumulated previously leaked from return line fuel that has yet to be evaporated out of were it might have ended up in some spaces around the prechamber and injector. in the video were it seems to be "flowing" was the engine running or was the sound off?

That is not a weep hole. It is a notch where a tab on the Prechamber goes to line the Prechamber up when it is installed.

Past where the Injector screws in to the retaining Ring there is a space around the sides of the Injector where there is room for fluid go build up.

If it is Water, Oil or Fuel till it evaporates it is going to come out of that ring and even comes up betweent the threads.

The shock waves created by the Injection of the Fuel through the Injectors and combustion cause that Fluid to bubble out as does heat expasion of the Fluid and one member said the Fluid boils.

All that is going to happen till the Fluid is evaporated, becomes thick or the Fluid level is low enough not to come out.

If it was only Fuel or Oil you could use multiple applications of Carburator Cleaner or Brake Cleaner in an attemped to dilute and bring up the stuff that at will not evaporate. Of course the Brake or C:arburator Cleaner evaporates.
