x2. You have the smooth shank of the bolts inside the aluminum housing. Really you should be able to just pry it off (carefully). No need for an easy out.

Once you get the housing off those bolts you should have a much easier time getting the threaded portion out of the head.

[SIGPIC] Diesel loving autocrossing grandpa Architect. 08 Dodge 3/4 ton with Cummins & six speed; I have had about 35 benzes. I have a 39 Studebaker Coupe Express pickup in which I have had installed a 617 turbo and a five speed manual. It still needs upholstery redone...I also have a 427 Cobra replica with an aluminum chassis.

That was my thought, just slide it off, but it is so corroded inside it ain't happening. I can now wiggle the whole unit, but the bolts inside move at the same time almost like they are loose in the head. I appear to be inflicting more damage with the drill bit. It's tending to go off coarse.

Stop and see post 16. Now you have to do something because it can't be driven as is. Loose bolts are ether stripped or broken. Damageage of stripped hole or broken bolt is already done. Pry the housing off without using the pry to further damage any part besides the housing then see what you have.
85SD 240K & stopped counting. 84SD 180,000. Thinking of painting both.
