Old Mercedes taking their parts to the grave.

In my MB car parts scavenger hunts lately Ive been finding a more common problem ,RUST. The last real dissappointment was having to walk away from some real nice frt seats , the underbody was so rusty that the bolts and nuts grew into one piece ,its time to get a portable saw zaw and make it happen .

I think what you want is a Sawsall, a trademark of Milwaukee. Recip saws have come to called "Sawsalls" like all facial tissue is "Kleenex".

Either way, yep. That or a portable cutoff wheel-equipped 4 1/2" grinder.

On my 190D, it was so rusty that I ripped the seat out when I couldn't get a sawsall or cutting wheel into the spot I needed it

I actually ripped out a section of the floor in order to extract a seat at a junkyard using a hammer and screwdriver. That seat was not getting crushed.

This is why we don't have the same wonderous pick and pulls here in the northeast, that you guys have in the sunny, hot and dry areas.

That plus the greedy yard owners want to send everything to be crushed and shipped to China, as fast as they can.

Our PnP is pretty good though they don't hold onto the old iron as long as I wish they would. I suppose they have a business to run and picking parts is just some gravy for them as their real business is metal recycling.
