Intermittent "Squeaking" noise during sharp left Turn
On my W123, the squeak noise originates from a right side wheel well only when making a left turn (sharp). It is not very loud and does not occur during braking or sharp acceleration.
The noise stops when the car straightens out and only returns when another left turn is made. Any thoughts? Last edited by Screwdriva; 05-29-2015 at 03:33 PM. |

It's a W123 300D and its had its rear sway bar links just replaced.
I wondering if a shock would squeak during left turns on a smooth surface and stop immediately when the car straightens? |

If you are moving slowly and the wheel turned all the way, I could hear the "Squeak" being tire wear on the pavement.

After a 150 mile highway run, it seems to have reduced a bit. Its still very sharp, present and definitely mechanical in nature. I wonder if the caliper is the cause?

Could this be a worn out axle boot?

Shortly after purchasing my 93 300D it started making those noises you described. my steering linkages, tie rods , etc were wore out or next to wore out. OEM parts weren't too expensive but it took some time to replace everything and then having to drive it down to the shop for more precise alignments.
