ac upgrade... help me help you.

Ok. I'm going to build the pf add on condenser as a kit.

I need your vehicle specifics.

I need line sizes, space dimensions, bracket location pictures, etc

I just bought a high quality line crimper. I will get hose, and fittings, but I need to have the sizes and lengths...

Everybody that contributes gets the kit at cost!

I'm going to start with my 190D. My plan is to incorporate additional pf condenser to subcool the liquid for lower pressures and better cooling.

Man, this is just in time. I have the templates for the brackets. How would you like them? Scanned with ruler or mailed?

I also have the hose lengths also. One going to the drier is 23cm and the one going to the compressor is 50cm.

What are you looking for in pictures? I have the ones a fellow sent me and get more when I am not falling asleep and half way there...

Thank you so very much John!

You have already installed an additional coil?

Not understanding.

I have removed the leaking original condenser in January. Been trying to get some brackets made, did, but too thick. So, got to make another set and get the parallel flow mounted.

Ahh, you are replacing the one coil with a pf. Gotcha. Yes send me the pics of the brackets, the hoses, and the sizes of the fittings.

"pf" = parallel flow? Condenser?

I'm having trouble understanding where this would go, but I definitely am interested in improving the AC performance on my '87 wagon and my '95 sedan, both 124 cars.

it's been suggested that instead of replacing the stock condenser with a PF, that adding an additional coil to continue the condenser circuit will help drop 134's high head pressures. I feel placing it at the end of the circuit will allow the pooled liquid to gain additional subcool, and improve the cooling potential of the refrigerant.

I'm thinking of putting it downstream of the filter dryer, to prevent debris from a failed compressor contaminating it, as PF coils cannot be flushed.

I bought a hydraulic line crimper, and a decent sized PF coil. next is to fit it to my car and see if improvements are felt.

I have a 190D also which needs a new AC. What can I contribute? Cash?

since I have a few 190's in various configurations, I don't need anything for that. I'll post results when I have one built.

if anybody knows what size lines are on the condenser that would save me some time finding the correct fittings.

O ring 6 and O ring 8, same as original. Tried taking the cap off, but apparently full of gas.

Edit: Here is the one I was told to purchase, as same as the one in the kit:http://www.universalacparts.com/product/UNIVERSAL-CONDENSER-16-X-20.

John, yes. When the accident happened, the condenser was damaged and A.A.A. insurance (soon dropped them) had already messed up the repair, so since was working, left it.

Cleaned up the garage and now can't find the hose to the dryer... However, hope this helps. As always, please let me know if and how I can help.

I would like my car cold. Do I need this device? Lol. 1970 220D. Has complete original system minus compressor. Was going to convert to the sandeen unit.

And I just found your manual in my trunk. Oops. Headed to town shortly.
