w116 300sd Steering Coupler
Own a 1979 300sd (w116) and need to replace the steering coupler.
The dealer sales it for approximately $200.00. Not sure who makes the dealer part but are there any good after market steering couplers and which manufactures should I stay away from? Steering rattles like crazy Please advise |

In the archives there is a member that developed a way to improve them. Maybe even repair them. I am not recommending anything but should be worth at least a look.
I would try steering coupler in the archives. |

I do not recommend anything as it is also a safety issue perhaps. I also suspect the part number may cross reference to a lot of models of the era. Well at least before rack and pinion steering was used by them . So a good part from a junkyard gas car with low millage might help. They do not wear out easily. |
