Which Diesel
I'm planning to upgrade my ride to a nice big older diesel MB. I've got a nice 220S gas for play, a 1958, but am in heavy need of a "new" day-to-day ride. Are there any particular models other than the 350 (which I've been told to avoid), that I should stay away from due to inherent problems? I am kind of leaning to looking for a 300SDL since I do want a big car. A dealer near me (an MB dealer) has an 84 300SD w/33K but they're asking 20K for the car which seems REALLY high even if the car is perfect. Any advise is appreciated even if it's to say get gas. Thanks All

Get Diesel
There are 1,000's of mid 80's diesels out there for under $5K. There are even quite a few with less than 100K miles and priced under $10K.
If you're flexible, I recommend looking for "By Owner" in Dallas and Phoenix areas. That keeps you away from road salt and seacoast corrosion. You can find great examples in SoCal, too. They will be overpriced and may be "customized." I would not mess with an SDL, but they are big and well laid out. Good luck.

Why not SDL?

Great name, TANK. It fits the 126 body, especially the long wheelbase SDL perfectly!

Thanks Turbodiesel. I will get a pic up there sometime.
