Yes, I will post progress pics and hope to get a photo of the car after it is finished. I have had this engine apart three times, and am glad to finally get it running. Enjoy your drive around the block in my honor!

What and how did you get the engine so clean rollguy? Did you use pro force from sam's club. Very glad you solved the problem of the knock. I have a 617 sitting in my garage that was run out of oil and am hoping to repair it and have for a spare for my 300sd.

My friend found the car for a client of his, and he is "contracting" the work out that he can't do. He will be doing the finishing touches on the car after I get it running again.

I got the engine in the bay yesterday and bolted on everything that I could, and am awaiting on the parts to finish it.

It is not my car, so I have no control over what the car has. I personally would not have bought the car and put that much money in it because of just that reason. It is 1981 or newer for me....Rich

The customer will probably go with the Sanden conversion, and maybe even do the digital servo mod once my part of the car is done.

Nice job in sticking with it, taking all of our crazy advice, reporting the failures and successes. Keep us informed on how it drives when it is all together.

No crazy or bad advice was given, it was all good. This issue and how it was resolved is good information for the future. I know I learned a lot, and at my own expense. It was worth it though.

It is gone!

I got everything on the car to make it drivable today, and my friend took it away! What a feeling of relief, as the engine has been here so long, that I almost hate to see it go (not!).
The car will be coming back at a later dat to get a Sanden retrofit.

No, I had to let my friend take it before getting a chance to do so. I will get more photos when it comes back for the Sanden retrofit. It should be totally finished by then.
