Meh, I don't see what the big deal is. I certainly wouldn't be hard on someone and then go tell everyone about it. Nobody knows everything, although plenty think they do.

I feel like you should be the one embarrassed, you have the time to email about a car from craigslist and you insult the guy right off the bat instead of actually trying to be helpful....your grammar is also incorrect.

Re: You're welcome

I see that sort of thing all the time on CL. I don't get how hard it is to know what model you have, especially when it says right on the trunk. I'd be more concerned about the veg anyway.

Well I think I'm going to buy that car!! It obviously is a very, very special 300D as it gets "over 40 mpg" according to his video!! I'm going to save so much money because my 300D only gets low to mid 20's!!

notice EVERYTHING under that hood is covered in a fine dirt coating... except the VO filter... that appears to have NOTHING in it... so... the filter is not actually connected? or the fuel he's using is so clean, it doesn't even show up in the bowl?... speaking of... shouldn't that bowl be down?

There was an almost identical situation that occurred here in the Bay Area. I e-mailed the Craigslist seller and let them know that the 300D they we selling was not a 300TD.

They replied by thanking me for pointing that out and consequently changed the ad.

A good outcome and an alternate way of dealing with a like situation.

The ad looks correct now. I am guessing you could easily talk them down to $3000, which would is still high but closer to reality.

For anyone flying there, don't buy a ticket to San Diego. Thousand Oaks is far away, northwest of LA. Arrive on a sunny day so you can see "Ventura Highway in the Sunshine".
