Awesome 240d acceleration

Today I was on my way to the YMCA. It was raining a bit but there was no sand on the pavement that I could notice. I pulled up to a stop sign where I had to turn right. It was fairly busy so when I pulled out I put the pedal down hard. I was startled to notice that the right rear wheel spun.

I thought, what awesome 240D acceleration that is!

Made me smile.

My SDs will spin the tires when it's wet. Gotta watch so I don't hit something. I'll be glad when these tires wear out & I buy something else.

You racing car drivers. Now more 240d owners than ever will be trying to spin a rear wheel.

Before we know it people will be putting five point harnesses in them. See what you may have started.

Oh my yes. No limited slip necessary in a 240! The slip is already guaranteed to be limited....exceedingly limited!

My S-10 pickup used to spin a wheel just shifting to 2nd, if a rear was over a man-hole cover or painted stripe. That was with no load in the long bed. Awesome power for a 4 cyl, though can't say acceleration was thrilling. One had to plan free-way entrances carefully.

You can cause rear pass side tire slip on most anything otherwise unloaded if you put a fat chick on the driver side front bumper - jes saying

I sometimes went power sliding in my 190D when it was wet out, the tires were pretty much bald before I replaced them.

Nobody gets by a 240d if on a two lane highway and the traffic both ways is saturated. I guess they might try the shoulder in desperation though come to think of it.

Now on the moon with the reduced gravity. You can do burnouts all day long. Probably even with the automatic 240d.

I just knew or suspected those cars where purpose designed for somewhere.
