How To Set Analog Clock -- 2005 E320 CDI

For the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to set the clock in the instrument panel. I've gone through the owners manual and can only find info on setting the time in the COMMAND System but not the actual analog clock. Anybody know how to do this?

Set the time in the command system, analog clock synchs automatically.

Reminds of the time I got a flyer in the mail from the dealer around the time of year when the time changes, inviting me to stop by so they could reset my clock by one hour....but this was on a 91 300D!

Dealers (Mercedes is not alone in this) will do pretty much anything to get you in. "Oh, by the way we notice you're up for one of our $100 oil changes and you'll need our nitrogen fill of your tires and....." An attempt to keep the mechanics busy but if you can resist upselling it's a good deal.

If by COMMAND system you mean the radio/CD/navigation unit in the middle dash, I wasn't aware adjusting the time there caused the analog clock in the dash to adjust automatically.

I've always had to use the steering wheel buttons to set the clock in the speedometer display, which then automatically adjusts the analog clock. Twice each year I forget to remember how to do it, and have to spend 30 minutes figuring out the correct buttons to scroll through the displays until you get to settings, find the clock/time function, figure out which buttons adjust the time, etc. Which is somehow still preferable than opening the car's 200 page owner's manual. **I do recall that there is a final button you press that "applies" the changes you made, and then the clock (creepily) starts moving in a rather jittery fashion until it reaches the time-you have to hit this apply button or the changes don't "take."**

SERVices menu on the command system.

You can reset the clock thru the display inside the speedometer, by using the buttons on the steering wheel (left side).

Cycle thru the pages, then up/down within the page and you'll find what you need.....

I think the discrepancy comes from whether the vehicle has navigation or not.

This is how it works on my 2008 W164, YMMV...

My vehicle has navigation, so it automatically sets itself. The time zone offset is all you can change. It defaults to US Central - perhaps an homage to its birthplace?

I have yet to drive it across a time zone boundary yet. Our Pilot had navigation and once when we drove to Alabama, it automatically rolled back an hour at the exact instant we crossed the GA-AL line.

If you don't have navigation then you have to go into the console menu with the steering wheel buttons to set it.
