Exclamation Alarm Trips '87 300SDL W-126

The alarm has taken to going off without anyone touching the car ~ on a cross America trip , anyone know where the relay I need to unplug is ? .

Maybe some pictures ? .

TIA , going crazy with all the noise as are the innocent folks in truck stops , motels etc.......

The alarm module is located behind the kick panel on the passenger side as I recall.
  1. Remove the passenger floor mat and carpet if you have both.
  2. There should be a cardboard type panel on the sloped front toward the firewall.
  3. I believe it takes a 10mm to remove the nuts/bolts that hold the panel.
  4. The alarm module is silver rectangular shaped.
  5. Unplug it.

Can someone confirm and post a pic?

Good Luck.

A pic. or description of what's stamped into it would help prevent unplugging of the wrong one .

I have an 87 300TD, many things are similar to your 126, but they may be different.

On my car it is located beneath the passenger foot space. Peel back the carpet and lift the protective covering.

It is a black box, about 2 x 5 inches, the dead giveaway is that it is made by Becker.

On my car there is an airbag safety disconnect plug in that space also, but it has a red housing. Worst case that will happen if you unplug that one by accident is that your SRS light will not shut off (except of course your air bag and pretensioner not working). Plugging it back in will rectify it.

Thumbs up Alarm Relay

THANX ! I had all that apart last month when I replaced the blower fan and some other minor repairs .

I'll dip into it and look for the " BECKER " mark .

You can try unlocking the car from another door or boot .Do this one at a time .You might have a microswitch fault on one of the door locks ,most problems are from the drivers door. But first i would remove central locking fuse ,then give it a try .The radio is wired to the alarm as well .

Thanx ! .

I'm thinking it's a front door micro switch as the passenger side key lock stopped working a few months ago and we had to work on the driver's side last Winter......
