What's wrong with this picture - W123, behind Climate Control, '85 300D
I'm new to this car so assume I'm a complete idiot.
What brought me to this point was no AC just hot air. I had the AC system checked and charged first, then found the monovalve wasn't receiving power (but would react to 12v across the terminals) Sorry for the giant pictures, the interface doesn't show an option for resizing. Which led me to pull the Climate Control Unit. I followed ProgramaInc's instructions on testing amps and ohms. I must be really bad at that because I was getting none across the pins suggested. According to ProgramaInc's pdf I need a new or refurbished Climate Control unit. Before I order one I'll take mine apart to see if it just needs soldering. Then I looked into the empty space where it used to be and noticed some things didn't look right. Please take a look at the pictures below. This is the cable salad I pulled out from the radio. It looks horrible. Some wires not connected to anything. Last edited by desertmike; 07-07-2015 at 05:15 PM. |

The spider is a fiber optic distribution box for the dash lights, shifter, etc...

Awesome, thank you. I figured it looked like Fiber Optics but for some reason thought it was too early for that to be in the car. That makes sense, thank you.
