1983 240D A/C Manifold Replacement

I need to replace the A/C Manifold that mounts to the compressor since it has a pin hole at the brazed connection. The manifold is flat and the Compressor has grooves for seals so two seals are required. What seals do I need? The compressor has a Delco label. If needed I can take a picture of it.

Also since it has been at ambient pressure I am going to replace the Receiver/Dryer. Are there any particular recommended brands or ones to stay away from?

You should be able to call the number at the top of the page, and ask them for the manifold price and availability...

Thanks for the reply. I already have a manifold. I was just curious as to seals and the drier.

A photo would help. "Delco" suggests you have the Harrison R4 compressor (round pancake), instead of the York (square box). You can find the seals on ebay. Factory type is a metal/rubber washer seal. The connection is termed "GM Pad", and some types use regular O-rings instead (ex. some Sanden rear heads). The compressor side dictates the seal. Many later R4 compressors have a different sealing port (posts here), so research and view Google Images.

Thanks for the help. I read it wrong. It's says Delphi. I'll Google it. Here are pictures of the compressor and manifold I have.

Delphi is Delco/Harrison post GM breakup. That looks like an R4 manifold. Call Peach, get the seals, & rcvr/drier. This way you will know the quaity of the part (not the cheapest, but high quality, correct part - you get what you pay for).

As eluded to earlier in the thread, this compressors are available for at least two different seal arrangements; an o-ring type, a sand which seal type and it wouldn't surprise me if still another seal arrangement has evolved. Make sure you get the right manifold/seal/compressor combination.

Hope this helps.
