Diesel fuel smell
Is a slight odor of diesel fuel outside the car in the driveway normal after driving the car and parking it? The smell is present after any type of driving and after any length of time on the road. This car is my first diesel and I am still getting accustomed to diesels. Also - I was hoping for better fuel mileage from the car. I am currently getting about 28 mpg. Maybe the two issues (smell and mileage) are related?

can't you just throttle it while you're under the hood? That's what I'd do.

On most late model diesels , the fuel lines have o-rings on them they leak . Best thing to do if the car is out of warranty , get a light and look underneath the intake and see if you can pinpoint the leak. If it is under warraty take it to the dealer.
