GTStinger comment x2. Find a hydraulic hose shop that will fabricate new hoses and new fittings for you. I'll be your fittings are seized.
When I questioned the owner of the hydraulic hose shop I used about being able to make a hose that would handle the pressure of my "mighty" mercedes oil cooler, he spit, swore, laughed and said "Dave I make hoses for drilling rigs.....now if you want to talk about hoses under pressure lets talk about that, not our puny mercedes ones!" New hoses and new fittings were $125. Fit perfectly.

The two hydraulic line shops here wouldn't do it, for liabilities sake. That, and they both thought they would have trouble finding metric line. Therefore, I have to do Mach4s conversion.

Unless your 300TD is different than my 84 300D, 5/8" ID hose fits tight. See my post #2. The temp & pressure conditions are easy for any hydraulic hose, including AC hose. Your high-pressure power steering hose is the only one that takes care in selection (2-wire works fine).
