Clutch line size

Anyone know what size tubing/hose/fittings are used on the clutch line that goes from the slave cylinder up and over the trans to the line that pokes out the floor from the master cylinder? The rubber flex piece on my line is leaking and sometimes doesn't hold enough pressure to depress the clutch, so my car is parked for the moment. Was hoping I could make up a new flex piece from some speedflex line or something similar? This is for W124/W201 - Maybe W123 is the same size?

I'm thinking I can use some flare fittings on both sides of the hose so it would be removable without having to pull the whole line, just need to know what thread size and what not in case I need to order online. BMW does something similar, this might even work if it's the right size and I can get another flare nut - BMW Clutch Line Kit

I've searched but haven't been able to find the info. Tried the 190 forums as well but no luck, I'm thinking someone else must have done this before?

Mine (240D Getrag behind a OM617 in an S-10) is 8mm which I've joined to a 5/16" line from the S-10 master. BTW - 8mm and 5/16 are virtually identical and will interconnect as long as you have the right nut for the fitting in question. I suggest that you take the line to your local Parker store (most towns of any size have one) and have them make up a braided SS line with teflon inner line. Tough as nails. If they use instrument plumbing fittings, compression fittings will be fine - they're good for at least 2200 PSI. They will, however, probably be able to make the line w/o compressions.

I'd post a pic of my setup but the forum won't let me repost it - they're in my build thread but many months back.

Dan
