Man, looks like my car. Mine has the same shape (roughly) and the same wheels (almost) and I've got the same badges on the trunk. The interior wood pieces that haven't fallen off yet on mine, looks remarkably the same in shape and size as the ones I see on that one.

Nice looking car, but I'm with the poster that observed it will need a lot of rubber replaced.
I noticed this in the AutoCheck dump at the very bottom of the listing:
10/27/1993 LITTLETON, CO 8,470 Auto Auction TITLE (Title #:935478)

And the history ends in 2010. And somehow the car levitated itself to central NJ without any registration records - notice there are no tags on the vehicle.

Therefore it is not a one owner car as advertised.

Don't get me wrong it is beautiful. So that is what a 123 is supposed to look like...especially under the hood.

It was most likely someone's elderly parent/grandparents car and they passed and the estate sold it off cheap or traded it and the current seller grabbed it at auction for $1500

These are the original tires. Notice the ribbing on the sidewall. They definitely need to go (and be preserved, for points) and new rubber put on instead, for safety. If the owner chooses to go to a show he/she can put on these old tires for points on originality lol

What are these pins for on the underside of the rear bumper?

ALDA has been tampered with?

High pressure AC hose nipple doesn't have an R134 cap.

Something is amiss with the trim piece behind the 1/4 glass window on the rear door. It seems to have been pulled away from the body. The right side sits more flush than the left.

The trunk tow hook area has been repaired before. I'm sure if you look at the inside of the trunk area you will see some damage.

I'd need someone to verify if there is still German air in the tires.

The sticker inside The fuel door is coming loose.

Rock chips and paint coming off Oil Pan.

Still a pretty car for the age if all info is true. which is hard to believe for a car this old.

Its a nice car, but if its not been used often then there will be a lot of seals that would have perished by now - if I were going for a factory original car I would look for a car that's actually been used and looked after vs just sitting in a garage somewhere.

Wow! Nice car, but I have to agree with m1tch in that I'd much rather have a moderate mileage (100 - 200k range) MB that has been consistently driven and maintained.

At that price, it's a deal breaker if it doesn't come with CA blue plates ;-)

I believe this presents a strong case to Mercedes Benz to remanufacture the W123. Still one of the best cars they ever built or ever will build.

Looks like the car has been repainted. The trim below the front bumper is body color; when I was 123 shopping I was warned that this piece was originally unpainted or primer only; if it was the same color as the car it was a repaint. Additionally it looks like there's overspray on the front tow hook.

Jeremy-
Could you clarify your comment regarding the trim below the front bumper. By trim, do you mean the thin body panel that is about the height of the license plate? Every early photo I can find of a w123 has that narrow panel the same color as the rest of the car.

I think you are right about the re-paint because of that overspray on the tow hook, but I just wanted to understand part of your reasoning better. Thanks.

I agree with this sentiment. It's very bad for the car to just sit around without being driven and fluids swapped out regularly.
