602 injection pump o rings
Hi all
I am going to put new o rings in my 602s injection pump, I have the o rings and new copper washers with instructions from kent b . In his instructions he says to remove the piston, do you guys think this is really necessary? if I can remove that copper washer without removing that little piston? Is the whole point of pulling that wee piston in the injection pump to clean it and get the copper washer out ? I have never done this before and do not want to remove anything thats not nessacary. I am a little worried about screwing something up. Thanks Kenny |
I did this on my 601 and did NOT remove the plunger from inside the element barrel. I used a pick to snatch the crush washer out of the bore. I placed the new crush washer onto the plunger and reinstalled the delivery valve with new o ring.

+1 One of the most useful tools you can add to your collection is a dental pick. Make sure you don't drop any of the springs.

If for some reason one of them gets yanked out the central Valve only goes into one end and the 2 parts are mated to each other.

Thanks for the replys, I guess all went well, no problems

It may nail slightly for a couple hundred miles while everything settles back down. Don't be alarmed.

Make sure you do the torque steps right, I dont remember what it is but important . I have done my 601 and my 602 with no leaks. Good luck.
