Starting and dying could be as simple as a leaking shut off valve behind the ignition cylinder. I'm always scared when people say they ran the car off some "witches brew" mix of D2 and or WVO/SVO/WMO/VMO/BioD/Tallow/Unicorn farts. You're not crazy for considering a parts car. Those pay for themselves with one good part you salvage from them.

As a protected species it is illegal to harvest anything from Unicorns.

I disagree... the farts are a waste product, and as long as the animal is not captured, or disturbed in it's natural habitat, harvesting the farts should be acceptable... filtering the fart from the surrounding air shouldn't be too difficult of a job... look for the glitter.

I'd try changing the filters and just stick the fuel lines in a jar of Diesel like you were doing an IP flush. BioD ate the rust out of my tank and I had to replace it. you may be dealing with the same.
