W126 Rear Control Arm/Hub labor hours

Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to swap out a left rear control arm/hub on a W126? I know the emergency cable can be a pain. Need actual hours from folks who have done this - not the book hours thanks

It took me 7 hours on my 190dt, should be about that for you. I wouldn't attempt it without an impact wrench. The trick with the brake cable is to work a small screwdriver around the cable end, then pound the cable housing out with a hammer. Unless it's even more rusty than mine, it. Will pop out.

The brake cable is like the W123. Leave it attached to the Trailing Arm.
Follow it to where the other end connects, Just disconnect it and leave it with the Arm. W123, W126 use the same Arms.

They can be a PITA to R&R from where they connect to the Parking Brake assy.

When I dropped the whole Sub Frame assy on the 85 300D, I wasn`t in a hurry, so can`t give a good R&R time. With my fiddling around, 2 wks to a month.

Are you talking about swapping the entire control arm, or rebuilding the hub?

Control arm is fairly simple really.
I do them in about 1.5 hours, but I swap entire brake assemblies... Pulling the rotor and unhooking the parking cable ups the job a bit. CLEAN is the trick with the cable. Unhook the diff end, push in the cable, then pop out the pin, and unbolt the retainer and it comes right out... Don't lose anything. Rust makes it harder...
