I went to change a vacuum diaphragm on my 1977 240D since it was losing vacuum and found that the large washer inside that holds the diaphragm was all cracked up! the small tear in the diaphragm was right at the cracks. Has anyone seen this before?
Anyone know if this washer is available by itself without getting a whole new pump? It doesn't seems to be in any of the "rebuild" kits I've seen.
Any ideas on why it would crack - ? Did i install the diaphragm incorrectly maybe?
