1983 240D Wiper Grill
Is there a way to remove the fasteners that hold this grill on or do I need to drill them out?
Also anyone know what they are called or the P/N? What about the boot? Can't seem to find that either and mine are a bit cracked. Thanks all. |

Two ways to remove it, pry the center section up and out, or with a drift drive it down and out.
The rivet is a two part affair.

They are reuse able. Like toomany said, drive out the centers
I use a small punch or small screwdriver. then with a small flat blade screwdriver gently lift them out. The center section is a square peg, look for them when you lift out the grill. Usually the one farthest from you will disappear. I think it drops down the rubber drain tube. You can always get some from another 123. A good deal of the plastic fasteners on these cars are like that. Charlie sent from my pos computer

The MBZ Classic Center in Irvine has them. They are different for the chrome grills and the black grills. Email Tom Hanson (thomas.hanson@mbusa.com)
