E300 turbodiesel W210 wagon weight?

Hi all,

Just wondering about this, I have seen that the weight of the fully loaded E55 AMG model of the W210 comes in at around 1,700kg. I am guessing this 1,700kg would be all of the electric seats/leather/suspension etc, my car is a base model with cloth seats and no bells and whistles.

I am thinking that my OM606 engine would be comparable in weight to the E55 engine - just wondering what sort of weight my car would be be owing to being an estate. I can't seem to see any tech specs at all for the W210 saloon and estate models with regards to the weight differences - I am guessing that the estate does weigh more as there is more car, but I don't know how much.

Its only so that I can calculate the power to weight and also how much the car would weigh now that I have removed some of the seats etc.

Not sure how they do things in the UK, but in the US you can weigh your vehicle at many truck stops.

I might be able to find a weighbridge somewhere, was just wondering if anyone knew the stock weight for the car - I have weighed what I have removed so I should be able to get a rough idea.

Do you have the curb weight placard on the driver's door jamb? That'll tell you.

Just gone through an E320 manual online, doesn't have the weight stated, it did mention about a 'certification card' so I am guessing that there must be something like that, will go and check later. Perhaps the weight isn't put in the manual like other cars due to the vast number of options the car can have which would change the weight quite a bit. Example being my car with cloth manual seats vs a top model with heavy leather seats with motors.

Will try and find the curb weight placard - might have a different location on UK spec cars.

This site, which I've found pretty indispensable for these kinds of things, shows 1655 kg for a Euro '97 E300 wagon. That'll obviously fluctuate dependent upon year, options, and so forth.

Thanks for the info guys, looks like the Sedan is at 1555kg and the estate is at 1655kg so the estate weighs 100kg more (makes sense I guess).

Just been out to the car to check out the door sticker, there are 4 weights listed:

2310kg
4400kg
1 - 1020kg
2 - 1290kg

Not sure which one of those would be the correct weight of my car - guessing the 1 and 2 weights would be something like maximum axle weights. I am hoping the other 2 aren't the car weight as 2310kg is slightly more than expected considering its a base model!

Bout 3700# sounds like. About what I would have guessed. The 123 wagon is about that too.
