Yeah, I read the label...Wouldn't remember what it said verbatim anymore though; this was months ago.
I'm pretty sure it was talking about cleaning the tranny of varnish etc, and not much about a leak-stopper, but I could be wrong.
Either way, it's been months and a few thousand miles and currently the transmission is still shifting correctly.

It never leaked to begin with, that's not what I used the Trans-X for. It completely lost 4th gear.

Doesn't seem to be "snake oil"...

We were having problems with the 300TD shifting. I was curious as to how much wear may be on the parts, so the first thing we tried was TransX. It did indeed sharpen the transmission performance, which would not have been "adjustable" with the VCV or other external controls. It didn't rebuild the transmission, but it made a quite noticeable improvement, so in this case I can say TransX isn't snake oil.

Thumbs up THANX !

I'm pleased to read all these success stories .

As Greg mentioned , I am " Yankee Thrifty " (cheap) as are most Farmers anywhere .

As I mentioned I think there were four different bottles of Trans-X and all of them mentioned ' stops leaks ' although less prominently on some of the bottles .

I truly believe it helped my tranny ~ about 40,000 miles ago it was flaring terribly and one morning simply refused to shift into fourth gear atall , of course this was all the way across Los Angeles from home so I simply drove it *very* gently and slowly in third gear all the way home and called my buddy Victor (ex M-B Dealer mechanic with all that loverly training) to rebuild the tranny , he took it and called me the next morning , when I went to pick it up the bill was only $150 ~ I said " I wanted it rebuilt and done once and for all because it dribbles ATF everywhere and pisses me off " he smiled and said ' it's fine , I just adjusted a few things , your routine hot ATF & filter changes meant it's still in pretty good shape inside ' .

Gah .

Anyways , that was almost ten years ago and it's still dribbling ATF everywhere and since the recent fiddles , tweaks , peaks and Trans-X it seems great again .

I still want to rebuild it when I do the engine , I'm getting very close to that point now .

BTW : the Torque Converter plug is a 5MM hex , have a BIG drain pan ! .

Lastly , IIRC that Corvair went through several GALLONS of ATF and the one filter kit before the fluid remained bright red and sweet smelling .
