How bad can a Uro washer pump be? he asks

What the heck...why not take a chance on a $7 Uro washer pump for the 91? Lasted 3.5 years, 14k miles. I guess I got my money's worth. Replaced with MB branded. Better last me 20 years.

How much was the M-B one? Can you tell it wasn't from the same factory? One possibility is that your washer water froze and hurt it. In Sacramento County, all the washer fluid says "for 32F+". It is just water w/ blue dye. I pour a pint of isopropyl in my reservoirs, environment be damned. It does freeze here sometimes. Is RI as environmentally aware?

I put a URO door check strap into the driver's door of my w123 300d.

About two years now. It no longer holds the door open all the way on an incline of more than 10 percent. (Which is probably a preferable form of wear than the old aftermarket ones, which would seize up.)

If you want to see real crud, let me show you my lovely Anchor motor mounts (in the box, not on the car).

Got the MB one for $37.50 (25% off list). We use fluid that's for -20F, and it never gets that cold.

I doubt that RI is as environmentally aware as CA....

Is this pump shaped like a D size battery and plugs into the washer tank through a grommet? If so, this is used on GM and probably others with the only difference being the electrical connector. This type is on my 97 C280 and SL, not sure what your 91 uses.

I note that is is becoming difficult to find everything in Lemforder. I'm working on the SD front suspension and ended up with a TRW upper control arm and some Myle parts. I'm hoping this isn't a big mistake. Taking the spring out isn't my favorite thing but so far no major screw ups. I only want to do this on this car once. The other was done recently and drives like a Mercedes should and tracks straight without following the road crown.

Also, note that Febi-Bilstein is off shore frequently China not the same quality as Bilstein (only). Even Professor Google doesn't find everything in Lemforder.

Wow, must have lucked out. I put a URO grille insert on my Benz and it disintegrated. Pitted to hell, looks like crap. Thought I would be safe with non-mechanical parts. Nope.

TRW is Mercedes OE.

The motor shaft seal gets attacked by alcohol in the washer fluid, gets hard and starts to leak. Water gets in the motor and cause it to seize up.
