w114 transmission into w123
 

Hey guys, do you know if a manual transmission from w114 240d will fit/hookup to my 1982 300dt? I found one in a junk yard and have been yearning to drive a manual transmission w123.

Thoughts? other suggestions/options?

The key word here is "fit".
Will the flywheel bolt to the crank? Yes. Will the imbalance match? Unlikely.
Will the clutch housing bolt to the engine? Yes.
Is anything else easy? No.
Can it be done? Yes.

you need the whole manual shifter and clutch pedal assembly, master and slave cylinders and tubing, possibly flywheel balancing, and an extension made to the driveshaft. also probably more, who knows? the usual wisdom is, have the donor car on hand.

when it's done and working, it's a nice ride.
