Shocks

I am going to get new shocks for my 1983 300d. I want bilsteins. I have a stock ride height but plan to lower in future. I see bilsteins have comfort and heavy duty. Do they have sports??? Can u run sports on a stock ride height in the mean time? Where is the cheapest and fastest place to order them?
Thanks!!!

Sports work with stock ride height. I have "heavy duty" on the back and "touring" on the front. Results have been satisfactory to me and I drive like a winged mammal exiting the underworld. I got the shocks, and many other parts, from this website.

I like HD all around. Shox.com has good prices and I've bought from him for years. Call if you don't see what you want & he'll get it for you.

One of my HD's is leaking after about five years. I thought it was SLS fluid but its the pass front unit.

I am in the Uk, I have just fitted Bilstein B4 shocks to my 97 w210.
Presumably B4 are available for your car ,now these can be used with stock springs or springs that are slightly lower up to 40mm.
My car sits around an inch lower on them.
Check them out if they are available.

I see vendors selling comfort and HD's, but no sports? Has anyone here use shocks from a W126? Since the W126 is heavier, would the W126 HD version be stiffer than the W123 HD version? Are the W126 shocks slightly shorter? If so, would this make it equivalent to make it a W123 Sport shock?

Yes there is no Bilstein Sports option for the w123. The w126 shocks are longer.

Thanks!!! I will go with the HD's!
