Any reason to keep cracked expansion tank?

Any reason to keep cracked expansion tank?

Or any other broken replaced parts? Got fed up with the mess in the garage, so tossing or putting up in the attic (my other hoard is cardboard boxes, which is most of the problem, but was too warm to go up until freezing winter came).

I can't think of any reason to - other than as soon as you throw it away you'll find you need it for some reason you could never have anticipated and wish you hadn't.

Thank you for confirming my thinking, including sediment.

B.T.W., the early metal tank is a direct fit. Had to be one of the best parts swap from the '79 so far. No more fumes! Ah...

Doesn`t every one keep useless broken and worn out parts laying around?

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.

What year 300D's used a metal coolant expansion tank besides the '79 mentioned above?

I believe it was a one year only item. I've actually got two of them and polished them up and had them on the car for awhile. They look spectacular....



Unfortunately both of them ended up leaking at the solder seam and I went back to the plastic one.

I found only one, think it was on a W116 around 79 or so.

I had seen a photograph of a deck lid from a "TURBODIESEL" turned in to a coffee table. So depending on your taste in art it could be a conversation piece on a nick knack shelve.
