W124 300D side marker going fast
w124 300d 1987. I am having some issues with my left (driver side) side mark lamp, I have this wiring diagram for a 1987 300TD that looks similar to my car.
The issue is that turning signal to the left makes the exterior lamp failure turn on. And the flash is twice as fast. Left signal seems Ok. I have replaced N10 and N7 relays and it did not fix. If I remove the right side, back turn signal lamp, the front right lamp works, but if I remove the left side back turn signal lamp, the front left lamp will not work. it seems the lamp is in series on one side, and parallel on the other side. According to the diagram, N7 pin 2 and 9 should go to front and back correct?. Can I just wire new cables this way ?. Thanks for any help you can provide. I hope can find the correct wiring diagrams. Swap the bulb sockets LF and RF (unplug the socket and bulb assembly from the harness) and see if the problem moves to the other side. I suspect bad contact between the shell of the bulb and the socket.
You'll need to remove the air cleaner box (3 10-mm nuts) to access the right front light. Wiring diagram available at w124-zone.com. If that isn't it, follow the ground path for the LF light to the frame ground point in the engine bay.

X2 on the ground. It's right behind the headlight kind of hard to remove with the light in place. Maybe best to pull out the headlight assembly. I've had this issue before and it was the LF ground.

Turn out to be a bad socket connection on the front drivers side. I removed the connector wire, and put it back and got it fixed. Thank you all for your suggestions.
