W210 Heater solenoid valve $350+ OUCH!

So I need to replace a heater control solenoid valve on a 1999 E300D . I thought maybe 150.00 max for the part. The 2006 one was $45.00 . Pelican for the 1999 has it for over 356.00 . WTF?
I searched for rebuild threads and couldn't find any on here. Has anyone had any luck rebuilding these? The problem is it is not making enough heat. The ball valve option is looking tempting at this point. But dang , Nashville, TN can't make up its mind on winter so it gets to be a pain in the butt. It's going to be 77F here this weekend.

Link?

Part number?

May be there's a smaller part on a bigger part that's cheaper to replace?

Pelican Technical Article - Mercedes W210 - Heater Control Valve (Duo-Valve) Disassembly and Cleaning

It is available from other vendors for cheaper but peachparts in their infinite wisdom decided to automatically censor the other vendors names because they are pussies. Never mind the fact that they allow their competitors to advertise on the forum.

I did this write up almost 7 years ago. Is this the type of thing you're looking for?

How I fixed my duovalve (W210), got my heat back and saved myself $250!

You can get a new one for about $235 from MB dealers whose parts departments have online divisions. You can ALWAYS get 25% off list on MB branded parts if you know where to look.

BTW the MB list on that part is $318. I have no idea how PP came up with their price. With all due respect to our sponsor, that's absurd.

If the parts are the same across the W210 line (1996-99), I have two spares and could provide one to you.

96-97 is different part from 98-99.

If you have a wrecking yard close you can test them with a 9v battery very easily. I picked up a spare last weekend for 10 bucks since my climate control system was acting a bit wonky and got a spare climate control computer for 20 to fix my blacked out lcd. Just a thought if you have some spare time...
