'83 240D ATF leak

1983 240D. 208k. This is a car just I just bought and am bringing back to life.

Disaster- tranny leak! I just drove it for a very short test drive and the trans does indeed shift. I think the shift points are wrong- a bit early perhaps as you accelerate (and I use the term loosely).

I got it home and I immediately noticed a pretty major ATF leak out of the rear of the tranny. It is not leaking around the pan- it is coming from a bolt that looks like a drain plug.

If that is all it is, I'm happy because I was going to do an ATF & filter change anyway.
