WTB Mercedes 240D manual trans part

Hello everyone I am in grave need of a rear flange for 240D manual transmission if anyone has a parts tranny lying around? This is for my 1980 300D that was converted to manual trans by a shop in VA. They apparently installed used bolts on the front flex disk connection and the rear tranny flange got all messed up when the bolts backed out. I was actually lucky the flex disk held in place without flying apart. I am willing to buy a complete transmission if I have to but you guys might be the source to get the flange? I don't think I can buy this part new anywhere.

I've driven quite far, and quite fast with a flange in this condition and bolted back together. 3 new bolts, 3 new locknuts, torque per FSM, or lacking specific guidance, gutentight.

If you'd like the part, have you tried the mercedes classic center? Google that, they should hook you up.

Auto wreckers in your area may be productive if nobody comes forward. Also post your need in the parts wanted section of the forum if you have not already. Used parts suppliers and purchasers keep an eye on that section.

I thought about reconnecting it but with 2 of the holes pretty buggered up decided to try and find the part before going that route. One mounting hole is okay shape. True to form I gave away a 4 speed manual trans that needed rebuilt a few years ago. I need some good w123 mojo to come back to me here. sniff.

Good it is still available new. let us know whow much they charge.

I noticed the one on my 80 240 being loose on the shaft. moved back and
forth behind the nut.
Removed it, and noticed the splines on the flange were worn to a point from the back and
forth movement.
But the splines on the trans shaft were still like new. Sloped sides and flat top or how ever they look.

Removed one off a spare trans, bought a new nut, and all has been good.

I guess after 300K something something miles they could work loose.

I have often wondered if the auto trans flange is the same as the manual one.

It's different from a 722.3 flange?
