Need w123 300D passenger rear window. Help!
I've got window problems. I broke the pass. rear window trying to pull it up. And my other rear window quit working. I had been thinking about finding a source for the lift and other parts to get the windows working....... Welll, now that I broke the glass this has become a priority job now! Any help with gaining access to the window mechanisms, parts, and procedures would be greatly appreciated.

Where are you?
I've got several. |
Ditto on the question - where are you? I'm sure there's a lot of spare glass floating around. Probably best to find it locally.

I'm in the St Louis area. I have just been been looking for some salvage yards, haven't called any yet.
Man, those regulators sure are pricey. Maybe buy a whole junker for the cost of a couple of those! |

There is two different thicknesses of door glass. 77 - 79, and 79 - 85.
Don`t remember the month build date in 79. A buddy of mine was in San Francisco and someone smashed one of his rear windows and grabbed things from the car. He called me about it, and I told him all 123`s were the same, go to PNP and grab one. He has to anguish over this for about a month, calling and researching vendors etc... The vendors only show one glass fitting all years. Finally calls Roy (WHUNTER), and he tells him about the difference in glass. From what my buddy tells me. they are model build date specific to those years. So early will not fit the later years. something about the regulator or something or other. Any one have any experience with this? Going to PNP or getting a glass out of a junker, be aware, the metal piece on the bottom of the glass can be pretty rusted, and unuseable. Maybe VSTECH can measure one of his cars windows with a Caliper. and or add to this. Charlie |
Yeah, I think I have a 78 door set, I'll check.
