Post The Wise Move

Just using it and seeing how you like it for now is the smart move .

Easy to get lost in other crap and waste money and end up unhappy .

Or if that seems to crude you can get your automotive paint supplier to make you up a spray can with it in it. Their cans and sprayers are about ten times as good as anything you can buy in a store ready to go.

The 240D is slow but there is something classic about it's simplicity that cannot be duplicated. Possibly the only better car might be a 300D non turbo, manual transmission which gives almost the same simplicity as a 240D with the extra cylinder and so a bit more power.

I agree with Peter. And where are you? Yes, I see you're French-Canadian, but so is a good friend who lives 20 miles from me here in NT Texas. I've got a couple of really decent 300D bodies that would just love to become manuals, and you'd be rid of the servo-from-heII for your heating and AC that comes with the 240. And I'm CHEAP -- I don't want to crush these babies, but I just can't work with them much anymore.

And now that I see how far along you are, best of luck, and I, too, envy your garage!

Post Klima 1 EVIL SERVO

240D's only came with Kilma 1 and the evil servo from hell on special order I think ~ I've only ever seen two so equipped .

No interior photos of this clean looking car .'

Thumbs up

looking very nive ! .

you really need to get some 'cleaner wax 'and do those rusty white things under your headlights before they rust awAy .

then follow up with some good finish wax (paste or polymer wetcoat) tp seal that old paint and stop the rusting before it ruins the entire front end .

pardon my sloppy typing, I had a bad moto crash monday and am just now out of the hospital .

? any idea where to get hub caps painted ? I have two cars needing this done soon .

TIA,

Got uncle Benz out today , ice storm in Quebec with bald summer tire wasn’t that fun . Need Basic maintenance from now on . Just replaced front brakes , clutch slave and master cylinder and a good Bosch battery . What should I check next ? Timing chain ? Tensioner ? 400km ( 250kmiles) . I think I’m going to use it as a daily driver this summer , even if I just have the 4 speed manual and do a lot of highway . Boosting aroun 10 psi for now .

Some rusty discoveries after removal of the ugly plastic part on the front bumper , will have to adress this very soon . This Californian car doesn’t like to stay in the fluffy stuff during winter
