Nice find. I am hoping the disposed cars will accumulate more. Or at least be kept longer from crushing by wreckers with the current very low metal prices.

I have heard that China has ordered a million or more cars off their roads as excessive polluters. So scrap metal should stay low for quite awhile hopefully.

I would still not throw your old head away if you can store it. All too soon they will be all too scarce.

Are those window motors available on just any old W124? If so I'm
not worried about it,and yea they only will give me $8 for my old head it's worth that just in parts 10x over

Thanks again guys,I got another heads up where another W124 diesel is,and it's a OM602 with a good turbo. I can try to unseize mine or if I can just pay $75 for a good one, heck with it. More good news is I filed for my tax return and I'm going to be getting over a grand back! That equals head gasket funds

Ill keep this thread updated

Ordered a bunch of parts for the car today, yay!

Bought the following from PeachParts:
Victor-Reinz Complete Head Bolt Set (hopefully they're good quality,we shall see)
MB OEM Head Gasket Kit (wonder how this is vs the Elring and Victor Reinz,it was only $65!)
Top Radiator Hose
Liqui Molly Anti-Seize and Assembly Lube

Also scored a set of new Bosch Glow Plugs for her too the other day,I was also going to order a tap for the headbolt holes so I can get the block ready, anyone know the size of tap I need off hand? If not I'll do some googling and post it here, progress is progress

Went to Import Face Off a few weeks back in Gainesville with the old man(took the '81 300d on it's longest voyage doing so) and came across these! They were the only Mercedes I spotted besides a newer AMG.

And the last time I was at the Webster flea market I saw this 240 with a rather funny improved cold air intake, haha.
