what brand rear wheel bearings? 82 240d

I'm a bit bewildered at the choices. I want a good one but am feeling resistance to some of the prices.

Thoughts?

Just replaced mine, bought SKF brand (for the T124), opened the SKF box and they are Timken. Very happy.

Any examples of brands you are finding? There are a lot of bearing makers but not all make what you are looking for.

If the really low end bearings didn't exist, would there still be resistance to quality ones? RE Are the quality ones out of proportion from a standard industrial bearing or do they just look expensive because someone offers a low quality part?

Napa wanted 120 per wheel for bearings, races and seals. Seemed high. I'd be pleased to buy the skf and get Timken.

What do dealer prices look like? The last few years I have been pleasantly surprised on occasion. Not so much usually though but enough to find out sometimes.

SKF is what I removed from my Cracked Lower Control Arm when salvaged the Wheel Hub.

Be aware that all of the brand name companies have at least 3 different grades of bearings and the lowest is made in China or India.

I get My Bearings on eBay where I can ask the Seller where the bearings are made and they are usually about 1/2 what the local prices are.

Advance Auto was my source, had them in next day, I can look at them before I buy, and the Mgr. went waay overboard to find the correct bearings.

Napa is frequently well out of range for many common parts and likely even higher for slower movers. Plus their web site is impossible to use. I was trying to find a battery to fit a boom lift at work and it was near impossible. You can't select multiple search criteria, show " Only in stock at my store " and when you do find a part is shows up 3 or 4 times down the list.
