removing om602 injector pump

I was looking at a parts car the other day, decided it was to far gone to tow and didn't have any tools. Next time i may try to buy some parts off on the spot. Can the injector pump just be unbolted without messing with the vacuum pump?

The vac pump needs to be removed to remove the center bolt. In some rare cases, the center bolt is left out, and the IP can be removed without removing the VP. I had a 190D that had no center bolt when I got it......Rich

ah ok, so the bolt behind the vacuum pump is holding the ip pump from the other if it is installed. Was going to go after the pump, injectors and a valve cover. Any other thinks i should keep an eye out for?

Also do you know the injector size socket off the top of your head?

Injectors take a 27mm (not sure of the SAE equivalent) six point deep socket. It must be a socket with the inside opened up all the way (to clear the return nipples), unlike an impact socket. Most will work, but some will not.

If that is a turbo engine, the heads are pretty rare, so I'd grab that.

Keep the injector lines. It's a lot of work but the front cover could make a good spare.

It is actually not as bad as it looks. The head bolts take a "tripple square" bit. I think it is 12mm.

Probably about 60-70lbs. It's aluminum maybe a little lighter. I'm a very thin person and have lifted the head off an iron head before, no reason why I couldn't see myself getting a om602 head off by myself.
