Meeting Forum Members

I got to meet forum member ImBroke (Tony) this weekend and I came away with a back-up engine for Mutt the Race Truck (OM617). Great guy, great weekend, except for the part where I locked the keys in my truck. Tony has a VERY active home shop and I can't imagine how he'll ever get caught up on all the projects (Mercedes and otherwise) he has cooking.

The engine is now on a stand in the shop and awaiting a really good wash-down. (What IS that special muck the Mercedes Diesels get on them?)

Anyhow - I recommend meeting forum members in real life if and when you can!

Dan

I have met
Vstech - worked with him many times to keep my cars running, he's up in Charlotte about 90 min away from me
Greazzer - he lives 2 miles from me, done 2 sets of injectors
Citationtech - bought his E300
KarTek - met him a couple times at the meet ups at Midlands Biofuels along with the owner PhillyTwoTank, and I try to get up there to get some bio for my E300 occasionally.

I missed meeting Mach4 when he came through both times due to work.

So when you coming to Wilmington? We have a GREAT beach you know. And I'll happily show you around town. Time the visit to correspond with one of our many car shows and we can make a weekend of it. I've been trying to lure Greazzer here for a couple of years but he always has SOME lame excuse.

Love to meet you both and the rest of the gang, too.

Dan

I've met JB3, MagicBus, funola, tbomachines, The Grinch, ytmtnman, Quahog, and curtludwig along with some nice guys on craigslist with W123s. Every meeting has been fun -- it's good checking out each others' cars, talking about the forum, etc.

Having been to some gtgs I've met more than I can think of, plus meeting here and there. It's always a great time and really good people on here. And of course Chad gets the kudos for hosting the gtg every year, it's been growing so fast I really don't know how he does it.

Elvis buys the drinks

If anyone contacts me in advance while coming through Memphis, I can usually arrange to have Elvis buy us a drink.

Still have my contact info? If not I'll send a PM. Look forward to it.

Folks - UNCW is University of North Carolina Wilmington. It's a full-on university here in town with a number of great specialties, especially various marine studies (marine biology, etc.).

I drove around the USA meeting PeachParts members and have to say it was one of the best experiences of my life. Lost count of how many members I met, but have gone as far as Costa Rica and Dubai to meet them

Sure do, unless your number has changed in the last 2 years...

It looks like Monday the 7th is the day I'll be down that way. Free in the evening, or late afternoon, depending on how well I do against the gremlins.

Nothin' on my calendar. ME (my wife) will be out of town so it'll just be you and me. Same phone number.

Looking forward to it!
