Brake rotor quality W123 2016 info update

Hello Members, I did a search in the archives trying to find updated info on rotors. Nothing of recent value.

Pelican Parts sells ATE brand which years ago was German made or Euro made and good quality.

Is the ATE brand still good?

I'd like to but from Pelican (front rotors for w123) but am not sure about quality.

Has anybody bought ATE w123 rotors recently, 2016 ?

My concern is to avoid China made stuff under brand name boxes etc.

Thanks,

It is good to get an update on that as some companies have changed where the outsource their parts from.

You could call or email Pelican Parts customer service and ask them.

OK I will do that. But often companies have no clue. They just go by the product code and that is it...

When I replaced rotors, the ATE set was made in Italy.

toomanyMBZ, did you buy those rotors made in Italy in 2016??

I also bought ATE rotors for another MBZ but a decade ago, made in Italy.

Can you PM me the source?
thanks

No, not this year.

But I probably bought 'em from here. Or maybe autohouseaz.

I got some Ate rotors this week from a certain Arizona-based online retailer and their packaging says that they were made in the Czech Republic.

They appear to be of the same quality as the OEM rotors I recently replaced on the rear. Like OEM, they come with a layer of protective paint.

If you're already changing rotors, it's not much more work to do the W126 front brake upgrade.

Thanks toomanybenz and imryamM, that helps. Thanks ! Czech made is not bad. My CZ 85C is a good example !

Skippy, yes the upgrade I have read to be appealing to many but for my use its not worth it.
I recently replaced the calipers. But thanks for the recommendation !
