606 feed return lines

Great site learned a lot
Got my 98 E300D with 185k on the clock is getting a fresh set of glows. Car was meticulously dealer maintained. All clear lines look new and banjo bolt as well. No leaks.
My question is this. The feed and return lines look like the originals and brittle. What size is the line and can I just get a lengh and custom fit them in, or do I just have to bite bullet and pay 80$ a piece from the dealer.

Thanks!
Les

From the description of your car, I'd buy the real stuff. It's only about $8 a meter from the online sources.

What is $80 a peice? I just bought enough return line to change them all on mine for $30 at the dealer less than a month ago.

If you are talking about the pre formed main supply and return line.. yeah, $80 per is about what they wanted at the dealer for the factory preformed lines..online dealers were about the same. One was a little cheaper but yeah, seemed steep to me too. Was just going to replace with normal line but some of the corners were a little hard to turn with normal lines, plus the id is different for the return vs. the supply line. I endes up biting the bullet and buying them at the dealer.

OP is looking for the supply and return hoses that bridge across from the steel tank lines over to the preheater and filter return.

Like most other things on the 210 they are CAD modeled and have several tight radius bends. The factory hoses are heated up and placed in a form to make the custom shape.

Yes you could use bulk hose but getting it to fit will be frustrating.

Also be sure to pick up new Oetiker clamps and also you will need the correct pliers to seal them correctly.
