Here is a picture of the dock at Ceuta Which is a small pocket on the coast of Morrocco controlled by spain where the Algeceris to Ceuta Ferry docks. I went through there twice in 1973, once going into Morrocco and once coming back. We were stuck on the warf for two or three days coming back due to rough water in the straight.

Oh, looks like the selfsame photo copied from Wikipedia.

I am tickled to be able to recognize it after so long. (OTOH, apparently things have not changed much). Actually it looks like those taxis may be in que for the ferry...?

Not only are they trying to phase them out, but as part of the offer to drivers the government is buying them and then scrapping them. That is the last straw for me.

Save the environment by putting new cars in their place that won't last and will probably be replaced in 5-10 years (new cars that created more pollution in their manufacture than the old cars do by running).

So very sorry that it took me so long to get these up. They are unedited, though some are cropped. Many of them were either shot from the hip or through the windshield of a moving SUV, so the quality is inconsistent. All were taken either in Marrakech, Essaouira, or going to or from the Sahara. Appears as though I'm going to have to do this in several batches...

Wow! Morrocco looks pretty much like when I was there in 1973. More cars and less horses though. When I was there we had a 61 mb 220b to travel in. It was pretty beat but looked good compared to most of the morroccan cars.

Fun stuff! Thanks for posting these.
