2006 CDI Cooling fan question, appears inoperable
First fairly warm days in Atlanta this week, noticed that my coolant temperature was riding what I would consider reasonably high at about 110C. Noticed it would drop significantly when the car started moving again. I looked in the engine compartment, while the car was running at about 105C and even with the AC on I did not see the fan come on.
This leaves me to believe that the fan is non-functional. Is there a troubleshooting process to determine the cause of a non functioning electric cooling fan on a CID?... and if anyone knows, please tell me where to start...... Thanks guys |
UPDATE: checked all the fuses, found that the 2nd fuse back, engine bay - fuse/relay - Front SAM module, 15 AMP was blown, replaced same, started engine, activated AC and fan came instantly on...... Test drove, so far so good, ..... at 80 degrees ambient outdoor temperature, vehicle averaged 60 degrees Celsius...... Hope this helps anyone who may find their cooling fan inoperable
